I like school - Yoga edition

I like school, i really do. Maybe it's because i'm getting closer to the end and am realizing that this is it. Tonight might be the last time that I pull an all nighter trying to cram 4 weeks of material in 12 hours, or it might be the last chance I get to prove to the teacher just how much material i know by ace-ing this stupid midterm. Either way, i like school.

People tend to complain about school quite a bit, and i'm trying to understand why. 'cause if you really hate school, then why pay so much money just so that you can be miserable? There are better and cheaper ways to be miserable, such as being david's personal maid. Job description: wake david up in the morning, clean my room, do the the dish, feed me fish, massage my back...ish... I don't think ppl hate school, it's just that they dislike their classes. they don't care for what they're learning about and does not see how it can benefit them in the future. To them, classes are nothing but stress, and we don't like stress. Luckily for me, i enjoy my classes, and here is why...

Today is tuesday, and on tuesdays i have two classes. Ballroom dance II and Yoga I... (yes, i know. it's okay to cry if you want to.) However, since i woke up late today, i only made it to Yoga... (life is rough... hang in there.) Thus, let us focus on YOGA then...

Yoga is hard. i took it because a friend asked me to take it with her this term, i don't think i'll take yoga again... granted that there are many girls in the class, but the girls are not worth the pain that comes with yoga. if you look up Yoga in the dictionary, it says: painfully crazy stretches that makes a grown man cry. And that is what Yoga is. For 50 long minutes every tuesday and thursday, we under-go extreme transformation by forcing our bodies into silly positions for the sole purpose of discomfort, and through these discomfort experiences our body respond by becoming more flexible and releases pressure in our systems. Thus, making us healthier and more aware of our body. Painful. But, I enjoy it. I don't like it, but I do enjoy it. Yoga is not only just good for the body, it is also good for the mind, and soul. Every session we are reminded of our surroundings, our needs, and our place in life. We are aware of the earth that holds us up, the air that re-energizes us, and our body that is the temple of our soul. And in turn, we should be thankful for such things and take good care of it. In this fast pace society, we take a lot of things for granted, never had the chance to slow down and appreciate the bare necessities in life. And that is why i enjoy this class, because for 50 minutes every tuesday and thursday, we are painfully reminded, and humbled, that we need to take good care of our body, eat healthy, drink pure water, stop feeding our body "junk" (the yoga master's favorite word), and cutting out the bad stuff in our life.

As many of us are picking classes for next term, be smart about it. we're here in school to learn, and learn we shall. As you are deciding which classes to take next term keep this in mind, Yoga is cool.

I should register for my classes or something... i think i start register today at 2? but i don't have any classes to take except for tax accounting... maybe more dance class? suggestions anyone?

There's a first for everything

A gay guy brought me a drink this past weekend... and i accepted it. hahaha, oh man. good times.

to my defense, i have to say that i did not know that he was gay at the time, i just thought that he was being really nice. and i offered to pay him back, but just don't have enough cash on me at the time. it's funny 'cause apparently everyone else know that he was gay except for me... i guess my gay-dar don't work as well as i thought it did, i didn't realize he was gay until he started kissing another dude. then i was like, "oh... ok..." 5 seconds later... " OH! OK!" it's cool tho, 'cause he was a really cool dude, gay or not gay, it didn't really matter all that much, we all had a lot of fun that night.

have a big midterm on wednesday... and also an interview, prayer meeting, one-on-one w/brent, class, quiet time, epic lesson planning, and what-nots. Should be studying, or doing something productive... eh, break is good for the soul.

There was once a boy named Dave (not me. Seriously), who wanted some beads for Mardi Gras day. He searched long and hard for a girl with beads to dance with, in hope to receive some beads in return. After struggling to find any girls with beads to spare, he settled for the fat girl with much butt to spare. She was by herself on the stage, in the corner behind the crowd. It takes more than just courage for a man to attempt such a crazy stunt, but Dave didn't care for he needed that bead. It was a long and painful 5 minutes with the girl, she gave all that he could handle and brought dirty dancing to a whole new level. As sudden as Dave approach the girl, she left with her friend just as fast. "She raped me, she raped me hard" said poor Dave, who sacrifice all his dignity for that bead. But when it was all said and done, Dave was left standing alone with no beads.

Silly Dave, Beads are for girls... hahaha... oh man, good times.

It is rough no more.

"How great, is our God?" Sing with me now, "how great is our God?" and all will sing "how great, how great is our God?"

So according to my roomy Connie, I snore like a "mad-man." I think that's pretty bad ass... haha, must aplogize to my campers and Andy for putting up w/ me this past weekend at Theophilus, I think my snoring kept a kid up for 2 hours, and the next day he was soooo tired.

Theophilus was an amazine experience. Haven't felt like that from a retreat since back in the COHI days. Man... these past 2 weeks... just great. Just great. I wish i could share the experience with all my friends, and I am sadden to realize that no matter what i try, i cannot fabricate such an experience... it would not justify the power of the Holy Spirit, and living within the presence of God. Even tho, i will try my best, 'cause i want to share this sense of peace, comfort, joy, and love with you all. So if you wish, ask me about it.

To my faithful readers, ( that would be the 3 of you guys... alright... two....one?) Let me re-address this. To my friends out there. I know some of you are going through a rough time, we are all dealing with our problems, and some of us are just trying to survive the day. I wanted you guys to all know that, it's okay. It's okay to struggle, it's okay to go astray, it's okay if you did somethings in the past or are doing somethings that you aren't particularing too fund of. Things that you don't brag to your parents about, or hides it from your friends. Things that causes resentment, or making you cry at night. It's okay to feel lost, or unwanted, or even depressed. It's okay if you are not perfect. I accept you as you are.

You don't have to impress me with all your works and sacrifices. You don't have to buy me things or send me a valentine's card. You don't have to go through life pretending as if you are perfect, 'cause you're not. You don't have to force your body and thoughts to be righteous like Jesus, 'cause you're not. And by doing so, you're not only denying who God made you as, but more importantly, you are degrading the gospel down to a law. There is no one that is righteous, not even one, and still, I accept you as you are.

Instead of trying to be someone you're not, focus on finding out who you are, what makes you happy, what makes you sad. Know what you're looking for in a relationship, know your interests, know what makes you want to wake up early in the morning. The silly thing is that God already knew who you are, it's you who has to realize and learn about yourself. So know Thyself, and come as you are. This weekend i learned what the gospel is, and it is not what i expected to be. It became clear to me and many others at Theophilus, and a sense of calm and love came upon us. Theophilus, lovers of God. That is who we are.

So come as you are, with all your problems and imperfection. And just let it all go. Accept God's acceptance of you... this is what it's all about.

Prayer, Purity, & Passion

Random stats of the day: it's 1,102 steps from my door to the MU.

So much is happening at the moment, it's hard to find time just to sit and comprehend it all. I need to find time for it all to soak in so that it'll stay with me, need to plan and capitalize on this opportunity. I feel like i'm a different person than last week, feel at peace, at easy, and in grace. How can it be so when on the outside, nothing has changed, but on the inside, everything changed. I'm giving it up. giving it up. Take a step of faith and stepping out on water. I feel a revival here on at OSU, i think it's going to happen... soon. I so long for this to happen, i waited years for this to happen. Now that it's here, there is no holding back.

Theopolius is coming up in less than 40 hours. We must be crazy to be doing this back to back. But it's all good, i'll go wherever, i'll do whatever. Pretty excited for Theo. I think something big is gonna happen this weekend, some lives are gonna be changed forever, good times.

For my dear readers, Happy post V-day to you all! I just wanted you to know that it's okay if you're a loser and instead of going out to dinner w/ your date you spent the night alone by yourself, 'cause i did that too. And if David did it, then it must alright, or pretty cool. Whenever you find yourself down or sorry for yourself, just remember that someone cool thinks you are too. That someone being me, and if you're reading this, you're probably my friend, and all my friends are cool. here i leave you w/ a pic from the conference. if you want to see more go to www.osu.epicmovement.com

oh the pain...the pain. you can feel it through kevin's expression.

Softly Spoken Simply Said

This is my new dream car... A SUV the size of a dodge NEON!!! i almost spoil myself out of pure joy when i first lay my eyes upon it. Just thinking about it can make a grown man cry... like tears of goodness coming out of a african mom when their kids are sleeping with a smile on their faces because they have been just fed for the first time in 55 days... yep yep, pure joy.

On a non-related note, today i was cleaning out my ear booger with the swap and oh man! A shit load of ear booger came out of my ear. It was more exciting than gross, kinda like the fun you're having if you were to do a magicians trick by pulling tons and tons of shit out of your ear... yep yep, pure boogie.

I need to stop putting off my to-do list... sometimes when the problems pile up, i just walk away for a while. yeah.

driving

Driving away from the wreck of the day
And it's finally quiet in my head
Driving alone, finally on my way home to the comfort of my bed.

mmmm... bed.

Corvallis is a rough place

What good is a blog when you can't rant and express your feelings because it's too private to be made public. What good are letters when you cannot write them on paper. Oh the irony of eblogger, oh the irony of life.

For 24 hours my life was simple again. For 24 hours my life consisted of me, my family, my friends. At the end of the 23 hour I was starting to feel comfortable, happy, content with what i have. on the 25th hour my life begin to feel apart. And damn it, 'cause i was really beginning to enjoy those super-bowl commercials. There were some pretty funny ones...

I know i told you that i'd give my life to you, but why does it have to be some damn hard? why does the path have to be so narrow? why? why can't we all get there, on our own time, in our own ways? why is the system made like so? why are we born less than perfection, so that we struggle for the rest of our live striving to for a standard that is out of our reach? If the standard is out the reach than why are we striving towards it? Again and again we fall flat on our face, but yet, we kept going for you. even if it kills me. and it did killed me, at least i said that it did. but if that were the case, then why am i writing all this? Why did you say that anyone who believes in you will have eternal life, but yet, you will not answer to all who calls out your name on that day... i may understand why it has to be this way, but i'm not sure if i'd agree with it. Is there no better way?

How quickly i was reminded of what i'm dealing with here, how fast life catches up with you when you're least expecting it. I feel like i need to be in a hole by myself for 3 days just to catch up with the stuff that's going on in my head. Life is coming at me from all directions, and man, there is a lot of directions. like NNW (north north west), and NNNW (use your imagination- you can do it). Fuck it. i need to start, and finish, my project, plus filling out some applications and whatnots by sunrise. I don't like it.

I am the greatest.

"Like a clown i put on a show,
the pain is real even if nobody knows,
and i'm crying inside. and nobody knows it but me."

Have an very important midterm in 10 hours. Still a couple chapter behind in the class... think i'll hit the sack and wake up early for some more studying. Man, it's weired how i'm not stressed about anything anymore. maybe it's cause i'm a super-duper senior, or maybe it's cause i'm just so damn chill. here's a secret, we don't have a speaker for epic this thursday... i guess it'll be another david surprise. Hope you guys like my surprises. gonna have to pray about that. I think i'm more worried about the epic meeting than my very very important mid-term, is that good? hmm... oh well. I think the worst is over for my cold/fever/a virus that is too weak for david. Noted that i did take some medicine, which i'm not too fond of, but considering the situation, i can't affort to lose any time due to illness. feeling pretty tired, body's sore from working out and sickness, got some crap in my throat, kinda dizzy, can't really think straight... man, it's good to be alive. here's to all that's roughing it out there, good luck this week w/ your midterms, peace and comfort be with you, and come to epic. david's got a surprise for you all this week. :) good times...

enjoy.
